Writers' Festival

This was our second SSLA event for 2018. Our guest author/illustrator, Dr Cameron Stelzer, provided workshops to our schools over two consecutive days. 

Arcardia P.S. played host to this event on Monday 30 July where we were able to join them. Annangrove P.S. hosted the second day shared with students and teachers from Hillside P.S.

Students were totally engaged from start to finish as he shared drawing and writing tips with students from K-6. K-2, when not participating in author workshops, were hunting for "nature treasures" that inspired some great poetry as well as creating their own imaginary creatures by mixing and matching a variety of body features with some intriguing outcomes. 

This fabulous day was continued back at school the next day involving our students in fun writing activities around our Book Week theme 'Find Your Treasure'.
